Zoom Stereo Microscope

The SMZ-1000 zoom stereo microscope features a 10x zoom ratio extending from 0.08x to 8x, providing total magnification ranging from 4x to 480x depending on the optical configuration.

The microscope has been ergonomically designed to provide comfort and reduce fatigue associated with long hours of microscope observation. Its standard binocular tubes have a low 20° inclination to allow observation without the operator leaning forward. Click-stops allow the operator to change zoom magnifications without removing their eyes from the eyepieces. The eyepieces have long eye relief so that corrective and protective eyewear can be worn. Stands provide large work-surfaces and comfortable focus mechanisms, and the optional coaxial (fine/coarse) focus features an anti-backlash mechanism to make focusing easy and accurate.

Also available with the instrument are eight objective lenses ranging from 0.5x to 2x, as well as apochromatic objectives that are corrected for optical aberrations and distortions.

Features of the instrument also include illuminated bases with features such as Up-Front Focus, Oblique Coherent Contrast (OCC), Toroidal Darkfield Mirror, and Anti-Backlash Focus. A fluorescence illuminator with an integral video port for bright, high contrast images and four filter positions is also available.
