Waters, YMC, And Phase Separations Merge Sales And Service Functions

Waters Corp. (Milford, MA) has created a specialized sales and service program for customers of its Waters, YMC, and Phase Separations chemistry products. Beginning in April 1999, researchers will have a single sales and service source for the full range of chemistry products and services produced by the three organizations. A range of educational courses and technical seminars will also be available.

This newly created program will provide customers in the United States and Canada with an expanded product line and comprehensive technical support. The new program is a result of Waters' recent acquisition of the distribution rights for YMC Inc. (Wilmington, NC), a leader in the area of chromatography products, and Phase Separations (Hertfordsire, UK), a major distributor of HPLC columns and accessories.

"The full line of YMC products will continue to be available to our customers, with Waters serving as the exclusive distributor of all YMC brand products in the Americas," says Mike Harrington, director of chemistry sales and service for Waters. "Application and technical support calls will be fielded by trained specialists who understand the unique issues and challenges of chromatography scientists."

For more than 40 years, Waters has created innovations in HPLC, thermal analysis, and mass spectrometry. In 1998, Waters had revenues of $619 million. The company manufactures columns and sample-preparation products at chromatography materials synthesis facilities in Taunton, MA, and Wexford, Ireland.
