Mansfield, MA - Murata Power Solutions has announced that the safety laboratory at its Mansfield, Massachusetts facility has been certified by VDE's Test Data Acceptance Program (TDAP). The award allows Murata Power Solutions to conduct full in-house testing of its products for compliance to the IEC/EN60950-1 standard.

By receiving VDE TDAP certification, Murata Power Solutions becomes one of approximately 50 companies worldwide to hold the approval. As well as endorsing the quality of the company's laboratory processes and people, VDE TDAP certification will also benefit Murata Power Solutions' customers by helping speed to time-to-market, particularly for custom and modified standard products.

The VDE TDAP certification process requires candidate companies to prove high levels of proficiency and competence. This includes the demonstration of a complete knowledge of the standard and test procedures, having a laboratory equipped such that the full range of tests can be carried out, comprehensive record keeping, and proof of the qualifications and training credentials of laboratory staff.

Commenting on the award, Hiroshi Morimoto, Principal Safety & Compliance Engineer, Murata Power Solutions, said: "This is an important and valuable award for Murata Power Solutions; it provides a vote of credibility for the quality of the people and processes in this area of our business. As well as enabling us to carry out compliance testing in-house, and so avoid shipping product to third-party test houses, VDE TDAP will aid us in strengthening our reputation as a leader and innovator in the power sector."
