Tubing Manufacturer Completes Buyout From Parent Company
Polymicro Technologies LLC (Phoenix), a manufacturer of silical glass capillary tubing and optical fibers, has completed a $15-million management buyout from their parent company, the Spectranetics Corp. (Colorado Springs, CO). Polymicro will continue to operate as a stand-alone entity in its Phoenix facility with its current management staff.
Polymicro has experienced substantial growth over the past few years, particularly within the analytical instrument market. Polymicro's high precision tubing has been the product of choice in separations technology, such as gas chromatography and capillary electrophoresis. Many of the company's optical fiber products have been designed into spectroscopy and industrial process control systems, which have also posted strong sales.
Polymicro Technologies manufactures and distributes silica glass capillary tubing, optical fibers, precision fused silica pieces, assemblies, and cables to the analytical, medical, process control, aerospace, and defense markets.
