Sysmex America Continues Urinalysis Product Offering Momentum
Mundelein, IL - Sysmex America, Inc. recently announced that Amerinet, a leading national health care purchasing organization, has awarded Sysmex a three-year, dual-source urinalysis contract agreement, said John Kershaw, president, Sysmex America, Inc. Amerinet's acute care hospitals and IDN/IHN Alliances have immediate purchasing/leasing access to the Sysmex UF-50 and UF-100i automated urinalysis instruments, reagents, and consumables. The recently FDA-cleared Sysmex UF-1000i automated urinalysis analyzer will be added to the product portfolio upon instrument availability in the United States. The contract, ID # VL-10016, which runs through June 30, 2010, involves collaborative efforts in the areas of sales, marketing and customer service.
"Urinalysis is one of the highest volumes and least automated testing areas in the clinical laboratory. Sysmex's automated urine cell analyzers offer true walk-away capability, freeing laboratory technologists to concentrate on more complex tasks. It's potential labor-saving during a time of restrictive healthcare dollars and medical technologist shortages. As such, we are pleased to make the simplicity and efficiency of our UF-series directly accessible to Amerinet constituent-members," said Kershaw. Amerinet constituent-members interested in speaking with Sysmex America's urinalysis product support/customer service team should call 1-800-462-1262.
Sysmex introduced the world's first fully automated urine cell analyzer in 1995, transforming urinalysis, a typically time-consuming and labor-intensive procedure to an unattended one.
