Sybron Acquires Biomedical Products Manufacturer
Robbins supplies a variety of lab products, including: microdispensers and automated dispensing machines with specialty pipette tips for robotic workstations; plastic plates, tubes, storage tools, and hybridization incubators; gel loaders and water baths; organic synthesis systems; filtration blocks; and covers, trays, and syringe dispensers.
The Robbins deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Sybron and its subsidiaries:
- In July, Metrex Research Corp., a subsidiary of Sybron Dental Specialties Inc., acquired Alden Scientific Inc. and Gulfstream Medical Inc. (see Metrex Research Acquires Alden Scientific And Gulfstream Medical).
- In August, SPL subsidiaries Erie Scientific Co. and Barnstead Thermolyne Corp. acquired Systems Sales Assoc. Inc. and Stem Corp. Ltd., respectively (see Erie Scientific Acquires Labware Firm; Barnstead Thermolyne Completes Stem Corp. Acquisition).
- And in September, Sybron International completed an acquisition of Matrix Technologies Corp. (see Sybron Acquires Liquid Handling Product Manufacturer).
Sybron International Corp.'s subsidiaries design, manufacture, and market laboratory and dental supply products worldwide. Products of SLP include Erie Scientific laboratory microscope slides and diagnostic products, Nalge Nunc International reusable and disposable plastic labware, Barnstead Thermolyne precision heating and stirring apparatus, and water purification systems for laboratories.
