Sugar, Asphalt and Seed Testing Paper

Ahlstrom manufactures three grades designed specifically for use in the sugar industry. All three grades are available in sheets, circles and rolls cut to fit your particular application. Please call for price and availability information.

Specifications given are typical values that fall within a defined range. For this reason observed values may vary slightly.
Grade 8613 has a smooth, black finish designed for use in applications requiring visual examination of particles. This material is also available in an acid washed grade, 8613 AW, for use in applications requiring extra high purity and low ash.
Grade 613 and 615 are particularly suited for general laboratory filtration methods and qualitative analyses.

Asphalt Testing Paper

Ahlstrom manufactures a thick, high purity filter paper, grade 613, 615, 617, and 627 commonly used for asphalt testing in extraction units. These quality papers combine good retention (4 µm) with moderate flow rates. They are available in solid circles, circles with precut center holes, sheets and rolls. Circles and sheets are shrink-wrapped in packs of 100 for protection from moisture and dust.

Seed Testing Paper

Ahlstrom manufactures grades of non-toxic paper for use in the seed testing industry and agricultural research laboratories. These grades meet ASTM designation D1030-75 and TAPPI Tentative Standard Methods T456, T413, T435 and T406-SU-72 and are available in sheets, circles and rolls.

Grades 8001 and 8002 are thin, tan creped towels primarily used in seed germination. Grade 8002 is approximately twice as heavy as grade 8001 and will therefore hold a greater volume of liquid.
Recommended for use as blotters, a tan sheet, grade 628 has a firm hard finish while grade 939 is a soft, white paper with a coarse surface.
Grade 601 is a smooth, white paper particularly suited for use in fluorescent testing applications.
