An automated pressurized solvent extraction instrument, the PSE performs rapid automation of liquid solvent extraction procedures. It automates the simultaneous extraction of six samples, which are conducted at elevated temperatures and pressures. This increases the solubility and desorption of analytes into the solvent when compared to traditional soxhlet and solvent extraction procedures. This type of extraction accelerates sample preparation for environmental samples, including the extraction of PCBs, PAHs, pesticides and hydrocarbons from soil.
