Smart Pump / Valve Combination Provides Automated Liquid Handling Capabilities
The ChemTecTM smart pump readily interfaces with and controls a six position, rotary valve. Both pump and valve actions are user programmable from the front panel of the pump, thus providing access to different solvents or buffers on a user-defined schedule. No external computer hook-up is required! The smart pump / valve combination is particularly useful in preparative chromatography, organic / polymer synthesis, and bioreactor "feed" and "bleed" applications.

Easy to use ChemTec allows valves to be scheduled for unattended operations during weekends and off-hours. In preparative chromatography, the smart pump / valve combination provides user-definable access to wash solutions and also allows redirection and collection of column eluent.
In chemical and bioreactor research applications, the ChemTec Smart Pump provides high precision metering either by volume or by weight. For gravimetric metering, the ChemTec interfaces directly with an electronic balance to provide precise, automated mass-flow control of additives (chemical reactor) or nutrients (bioreactor). Interfacing simultaneously with the six port rotary valve provides user-definable access to additional solvents or buffers.
In addition, the ChemTec Smart Pump provides user-definable alarms to monitor mass or volume flowrates, cumulative reactant weights or volumes, as well as end of program status. During an alarm, the ChemTec stops the pump action and/or provides an auditory alarm.
Inert, high precision piston pumps (wetted parts of Ceramic & Tefzel®) can readily accommodate even corrosive reagents. For higher flow ranges, peristaltic pumps, as well as pulse-free magnetic gear pumps (316 SS) are available.
