Rosemount Analytical Receives Canadian Certification For GCX Analytical Detectors
The Process Analytic Division of Rosemount Analytical (Orrville, OH) has received certification from the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) International for Rosemount's GCX Process Gas Chromatograph Transmitter. This certification applies to the complete range of GCX analytical detectors and the Methanator, VLSIV (Vapor Liquid Sample Injection Valve), and SHS (Sample Handling System) options.
The GCX is designed for use in hazardous locations and is certified to Canadian and U.S. explosion-proof standards for severe Class I, Zone 1, Group IIB+H2, and T4 environments. It is housed in a rugged, process-hardened, field-mountable package that does not require an instrument shelter. Its design eliminates the need for continuous purge, reducing installation and operating costs and is smaller and lighter than traditional process chromatographs. These features allow simplified installation closer to the process, reducing sample lag time, and expensive heated sample line runs.
The speed of the GCX, plus its close proximity to the process, means total measurement delays can be as little as 25% of conventional process gas chromatographs. This short delay and analytical speed can yield process and product quality control two to ten times better than that previously achieved with older units.
The Process Analytic Divisionwhich specializes in online process analysis, combustion control, and emissions monitoringis one of the three companies that form Rosemount Analytical Inc., a division of Fisher-Rosemount (Austin, TX). Fisher-Rosemount is a supplier of control valves, regulators, transmitters, analyzers, process management systems and related services.
