Rockwell International Moving To Milwaukee

Rockwell International Corp. is on the move. The electronic controls and communications company has announced its plans to relocate its world headquarters from Costa Mesa, CA to Milwaukee. The new offices will be located in the Firstar Center, in downtown Milwaukee, at 777 E. Wisconsin Avenue. Rockwell will begin moving employees this summer and expects the transition to be complete by year-end.

Rockwell has chosen to relocate its staff closer to its businesses, now based primarily in the Midwest, following the spin-off of its Newport Beach, CA-based Semiconductor Systems business into Conexant Systems Inc. in December.

Rockwell consists of two primary activities—Rockwell Automation, the largest supplier of industrial automation products in North America, with locations in Milwaukee and Greenville, NC, and Rockwell Collins (Cedar Rapids, IA), which provides avionics for commercial air transport aircraft, business and regional aircraft, and government markets.

Rockwell also has a small, but rapidly growing Electronic Commerce business located in Wood Dale, IL, which provides computer controlled call management systems for a wide array of consumer applications.
