The Y501C relative viscometer has an upgraded system that provides significant productivity gains, reduced solvent use, and improved operator safety. This unit also provides direct simultaneous measurement of solvent and sample viscosity, therefore eliminating errors due to temperature variation and solvent variation. This system allows the user to calculate important polymer production QA/QC parameters including the molecular weight, specific viscosity, inherent viscosity, reduced viscosity, intrinsic viscosity, and absolute viscosity. In addition, it has new control software that provides full control over sample preparation and a more precise control of temperature over a greater range.
