Back in 1975, Timothy B. Hidell had a decision to make. Finished with college where he had majored in marketing and played football for the "Fighting Blue Hens" of the University of Delaware, Tim now could follow in his father's footsteps and go to work at West Chemical Products, Inc., or, very possibly play professional football. An injury helped him select West, where he worked for the next few years.

In 1981, however, he struck out on his own and Quip Laboratories, Inc. was founded in a very small production center in Wilmington, Delaware. Consisting of an office, production, delivery, sales, and service staff of four, the company began to grow. Today, it resides in a 30,000 square foot building that houses Administrative, Research and Development, Quality Control, Production and Shipping, Customer Solutions, and Sales/Marketing.

The Company's amazing growth can be attributed to its total commitment to continuous improvements in quality, productivity, and safety. Also, it seeks efficiencies in all of its efforts to provide a comprehensive "total systems" approach to environmental disinfection, equipment sanitation, and personal hygiene. For instance, in its state-of-the-art facility, Quip applies stringent standards to proven methods of producing its chemicals at a reasonable price.
