The Quattro Ultima is a tandem quadrupole mass spec that enables extreme ion conductance from the atmospheric pressure ionisation aerosol to the mass analyzer. This system has a low noise/high gain detector that approaches 100% efficiency for the detection of single ions. This instrument is capable of obtaining greater gain by increasing the conversion dynode voltage from 5kV to 10kV, and by employing novel ‘within detector' focusing optics.

The system is controlled form the MassLynx NT instrument and data management system, which is written in Microsoft 32-bit code. This system provides data integrity protection and GALP compliance. It also has a system/user monitoring capability that has full management summary reporting facilities.
