STEMI Workflow Seamlessly Transmits ECG from leading monitor defibrillator
Bozeman, MT (PRWEB) - In keeping with the Pulsara integration program, Pulsara is happy to announce the capability to share a diagnostic quality 12-lead ECG directly from ZOLL X Series monitors. Communicating directly with the monitor reduces time, allowing EMS providers to provide needed hospital communication without added steps.
This integration refines coordinated treatment between EMS and the cardiology team; allowing for increased transparency and streamlined communication. By activating hospitals while still on scene, Cath Lab teams can be mobilized and ready for the patient prior to arrival. A September 2018 ACTION Registry study published by JACC Cardiovascular Interventions concluded that when Cath Labs are mobilized at least 10 minutes prior to patient arrival, patients spend less time between hospital arrival and cath lab arrival (17 vs. 28 min), have shorter door-to-device times (40 vs 52 min), and achieve FMC-to-device time less than 90 min (77% vs 69%). The study showed that the 10 minute pre-activation notification occurred in only 41% of the potential cases.
“When treating a patient who is having a myocardial infarction, there are a number of critical interventions that need to be completed in parallel. In addition to caring for the patient, one key step is early notification to the hospital.” Explained Kris Kaull, Flight Paramedic and Chief Marketing Officer of Pulsara. “With just a tap, the ECG image is pulled directly into Pulsara and becomes part of the patient update that’s shared with the receiving hospital.”
The ZOLL integration marks a signature event as Pulsara executes its integration strategy. From the outset, Pulsara was built on an open API infrastructure in preparation for its robust integration road map. Pulsara unites team members from different healthcare entities. Strategic integrations like this improve clinical workflows and further advance the vision of automated healthcare communications for entire regions.
“Building a regional system of care is bigger than one agency, one monitor, one medic, one hospital. It’s about connecting a team of clinicians all centered around a core priority – the patient – throughout the ENTIRE patient journey.” Said Terry Kehoe, Senior Marketing Manager for ZOLL Fire and Medical. “With our aligned vision of connected teams, this integration with Pulsara is a natural fit.”
“Given the X Series’ position as a market leading monitor defibrillator in EMS agencies in the U.S. and around the globe, choosing to partner with ZOLL was a logical choice,” says Kris Kaull.
This relationship highlights both ZOLL and Pulsara’s market leading position and commitment to building regional communication networks. Pulsara’s Prehospital Package is FREE to both EMS and the receiving hospital. Any region using Pulsara’s Prehospital package now includes ZOLL X Series ECG integration.
Why is Prehospital Communication FREE? “In our fragmented healthcare system, regional communication is a complex problem that needs a simple solution. Prehospital communication is just a portion of regional communications.” said James Woodson, MD, FACEP and CEO of Pulsara. “By eliminating the costs of solving the prehospital communication problem- - - for an entire region it allows us to provide a single comprehensive solution to unite the entire care team for a patient.”
The Pulsara PREHOSPITAL Package is FREE to both EMS and the Hospital and includes the following benefits and features:
