The Models MF-3A and MF-3D integrating fluxmeters have been designed to provide the user with a flexible and convenient means of accurately measuring magnetic flux and flux density for both production and laboratory applications. Both models include the latest design circuitry with all push-button control for reliability and ease of operation. The Model MF-3A is an analog display instrument with a 1% taut-band mirror scale analog meter. The meter displays zero center for bipolar operation and zero left when additional resolution is required. This model can also be provided with an optional rechargeable battery to allow the instrument to be used either for portable operation or where line isolation is required when the ambient line noise level is very high.

For portable operation, the MF-3A will operate for a period of eight hours from fully charged batteries. Recharging of the batteries takes place as soon as the instrument is reconnected to the AC line. For line isolation, the battery operation, together with tight voltage regulation, will control the instrument sensitivity during power line voltage transients and conducted noise disturbances and will allow the instrument to continue operation without loss of data if AC power is interrupted.

The Model MF-3D is a digital display instrument with a ±0.05% 3 1/2, digit bipolar DPM. The DPM has a bright luminous 0.56" high LED display. An optional 4 1/2 digit display is available and can be provided with a variety of communications options.

Each model has a one Volt ±0.25% full scale analog output which is proportional to the measured flux for driving standard recorders for DC hysteresis loop tracing or standard oscilloscopes for peak AC tracing.

A separate AC mode allows for complete drift-free operation when analyzing AC fields. The 100kHz frequency response of these instruments allows them to be used to test a broad range of magnetically soft materials. In addition, the low drift characteristics which have set an industry standard with an absolute maximum drift rate of 100 maxwell turns (1 microvolt) per minute allow most samples to be accurately tested at DC rates.
