Portable Hand-Held Magnetometer/Gaussmeter MG-7D

Source: Walker Scientific, Inc.
The MG-7D magnetometer/gaussmeter is a fully portable hand-held DC magnetic field measuring instrument, designed to measure a broad field range from ±10 gamma (1/10,000 gauss) to ±150.0kG DC, with select probes.
The MG-7D magnetometer/gaussmeter is a fully portable hand-held DC magnetic field measuring instrument, designed to measure a broad field range from ±10 gamma (1/10,000 gauss) to ±150.0kG DC, with select probes.

The small, compact and lightweight unit has several features making it particularly useful in an industrial environment. These include a sealed touch keypad for maintenance free operation and a display panel that can be illuminated in low light conditions. Its low power consumption (0.04 watts) allows the unit to operate up to 100 hours continuously with a standard 9V alkaline battery.

Four full scale bipolar ranges of ±20 gauss, ±200 gauss, ±2 kG and ±20 kG with resolution of 0.05% provides DC field ratings from 10 milligauss to ±19.99 kG with 1X probes.

A wide selection of direct reading 10X precalibrated transverse and axial Hall probes is available to expand field readings from ±19.99 kG to ±150.0 kG. Also available is a magnetometer probe, specifically designed for low level magnetic field measurements from ±10 gamma (±1/10,000 gauss) to ±1.5 gauss. This probe becomes extremely useful for ambient field surveys, air freight package inspections, ferromagnetic metal detection, field mapping for NMR systems and similar applications.

This instrument can also be useful as a differential gaussmeter providing field suppression up to 4kG with standard 1X probes and can be expanded up to 50 kG suppression with select probes. By suppressing the ambient field and selecting the 20 gauss full-scale range, incremental measurements can be made as low as 10 milligauss. Readings are displayed on a 3 1/2 digit ±0.1% bipolar LCD meter.

Standard features include battery, padded vinyl carrying case and a 6' extension probe cable. An analog output jack is provided for remote sensing.
