PITTCON 2001: Masterflex L/S High-Pressure Pump System
No special tubing, gears, valves, seals or diaphragms are needed, so set-up and maintenance time are significantly less than with other pump types. This feature makes the Barnant high pressure pump ideal for fast changeover on chemical injection, varying ingredient lines, short-run batch processing systems and other applications, as well as sterile filtration and lab uses where the medium needs to contact only the tubing, never any moving parts.
Offered as a complete unit, this new high-pressure pump assembly includes an L/S high-performance pumphead and a variable-speed L/S console drive for setting flows between 0.9170mL/min., single-turn speed control, on/off/reverse switch, LEI) power indicator and a centeroff feature, which allows speed settings to be maintained while turning the unit on and off. A 1/10-hp reversible motor enables pumping in either direction and purging before or after pumping occurs. The motor is equipped with "soft" start and back EMF for ±l% speed control. This results in smoother operation and longer service life. Also included in the system is L/S 16HP PharMed tubing, which meets FDA and USP Class VI approval criteria.
