Introduction to LC/MS, SAVANT Audiovisuals' new interactive computer-based training program will be shown for the first time at Pittcon 2001. This software teaches the combined techniques of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry: HPLC separation modes and equipment; MS inlets and ionization modes; ion separation and detection; interpretation and applications.

The self-paced training program features animated graphics illustrating how instrument components work and interactive simulators that show changes in instrument output when parameters are varied. Powerful testing and tracking systems give immediate feedback for correct and incorrect answers to quiz questions. Test results are stored and problem areas flagged for review. The progress page keeps track of each registered user¹s study and exam history to provide an audit trail for proof of training/testing. Users can customize the program by editing and adding to tests and importing graphics and text unique to an organization¹s in-house procedures.

Other features in Introduction to LC/MS include an immediately-accessible printable electronic notepad which automatically records experiments, a search feature that finds any word or phrase of text and an electronic bookmark that holds the user¹s place for easy later return.

Single and multi-user licenses are available.
