Petrography and Fiber Analysis
Source: INTEGREX Testing Systems
Our microscopy laboratory conducts morphological and microchemical
analysis of everything from raw materials to finished products such as glass
Petrography is a core expertise:
- Glass defects analysis
- Glass stoning problems
- Glass inhomogeneity (seed and refractive index studies)
- Refractory wear problems
Fiber analysis includes identification and quantification of natural and man-made fibers.
Our strengths are in both optical and electron microscopy.
Test methods include:
- Polarized light
- Particle / fiber counting (AIHA accredited for NIOSH 7400)
- Video and filar measuring
- Photo-microscopy
- Scanning electron microscopy / energy dispersive X-ray analyses (SEM/EDX)
- A wide variety of sample preparation procedures
