Petrography and Fiber Analysis

Source: INTEGREX Testing Systems
Our microscopy laboratory conducts morphological and microchemical analysis of everything from raw materials to finished products such as glass
Petrography is a core expertise:

  • Glass defects analysis
  • Glass stoning problems
  • Glass inhomogeneity (seed and refractive index studies)
  • Refractory wear problems
Our microscopy laboratory conducts morphological and microchemical analysis of everything from raw materials to finished products such as glass, composites, refractories and ceramics.

Fiber analysis includes identification and quantification of natural and man-made fibers.

Our strengths are in both optical and electron microscopy.
Test methods include:

  • Polarized light
  • Particle / fiber counting (AIHA accredited for NIOSH 7400)
  • Video and filar measuring
  • Photo-microscopy
  • Scanning electron microscopy / energy dispersive X-ray analyses (SEM/EDX)
  • A wide variety of sample preparation procedures
