PE Corp. Names New Senior VP Of Corporate Development

PE Corp. (Norwalk, CT) has appointed Kenneth Noonan as senior vice president of corporate development. Noonan, who joined the company January 4, will report to Tony White, PE Corp.'s chairman, president, and CEO.

In his new position, Noonan will be responsible for identifying, researching, and recommending strategic initiatives for the corporation to the board of directors. He will evaluate business opportunities, including alliances, acquisitions, and partnerships, thatwill enable PE Corp. to continue to develop pioneering technology for customers in the research and applied science fields of medicine, agriculture, forensics, food and environmental testing.

Dr. Noonan most recently served as a partner in the global life sciences practice of Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc., with clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, agrichemical, medical device and diagnostics industries. Prior to that, he was a partner in The Wilkerson Group, a specialty medical products consulting group. During his tenure there, he founded and led The Wilkerson Group Ltd., which was responsible for the European marketplace. He served previously with The Cooper Companies, in both research and development and business development and technology assessment and at Becton Dickinson Inc., in research and development for the microbiology division. He was one of the founding scientists and research and development director at Bethesda Research Laboratories, Inc., and was on the faculty at the University of Florida School of Medicine, in the department of biochemistry and molecular biology.

PE Corp. currently comprises two operating groups: PE Biosystems (Foster City, CA), which develops and markets instrument-based systems, reagents, software, and contract services to the life science industry and research community, and Celera Genomics (Rockville, MD), a source of genomic and related medical information.
