Columbia, MD - PCTEST Engineering Laboratory, Inc. , a leading testing laboratory in wireless testing and certification, announced that Verizon Wireless has approved PCTEST LAB as an independent third party laboratory certified to perform open development device testing.

Verizon Wireless' open development program (www.verizonwireless-opendevelopment.com) provides a mechanism for device manufacturers and developers to offer their products and services on the Verizon Wireless network. Once a device meets the relevant specifications and certification, customers can use that device on the Verizon Wireless national voice and data network. PCTEST LAB testing ensures devices submitted to the open development program conform to regulatory and relevant industry specifications and requirements in order to operate on the nation's most-reliable wireless network.

Looking forward to this working relationship with Verizon Wireless, the president of PCTEST LAB Randy Ortanez said, "We are thrilled to be part of the open development program and PCTEST LAB is ready to begin supporting device manufacturers and developers in obtaining certification of their devices for use in Verizon Wireless' network." The addition of open development testing is consistent with our commitment to be pioneers in wireless testing and certification of mobile devices," said PCTEST president Randy Ortanez. "Verizon Wireless' open development program complements PCTEST LAB's comprehensive array of testing services supporting the wireless industry's requirements. PCTEST LAB's open development approval further reinforces our leadership position in providing wireless testing services in North America."
