Oxygen-Permeation Measurement Products Classified As ASTM Standards

An oxygen-permeation measurement product line from Mocon (Minneapolis), has been named as a new industry standard by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The OX-TRAN "H" technology is embodied in new ASTM method F-1927 to test oxygen permeation through barrier materials under precise humidity conditions. The plastics, medical, food, petrochemical and packaging industries are members of ASTM, and utilize its standards extensively.

"This new standard is the result of 10 years of effort at the ASTM committee level," says Robert Demorest, Mocon's president. "We are very gratified that the committee members, made up of a number of companies in our main markets, have voted to endorse our technology in this manner."

Mocon is a leading provider of systems and services designed to assess materials and processes. The company develops, manufactures and markets high-technology instrumentation designed to test packages and packaging materials, films and pharmaceutical products. Mocon markets products used in research laboratories, production environments and quality-control applications in the food, plastics, electronics, oil and gas, paints and coatings, medical and pharmaceutical industries.
