The Cleantop II is a steel, oil-free optical top with a core that has no residual thread-cutting oils to out-gas. Dangerous chemicals can be used on the top without penetrating the core, thus eliminating health hazards. The honeycomb core is registered to the tapped hole array, and the lightweight breadboard has formed rather than drilled holes.
