Omega now offers polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (SARS-COV-2) COVID-19. The PCR testing system that Omega utilizes has been issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Patients are tested for active infection with the novel coronavirus using nasopharyngeal and nasal mid-turbinate swab collections.
