Nightingale Signs Agreement With The Government Of The Northwest Territories Department Of Health And Social Services

Markham,Canada - Nightingale Informatix Corporation ("Nightingale" or the "Company") , a healthcare application service provider (ASP) of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management software, recently announced that it has signed an agreement with the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) to provide EMR and practice management solutions to healthcare providers across the territory. An EMR is a secure electronic history of patient care and treatments received from doctors, nurses, and other health care professionals. The initial contract is valued at $600,000.

Under the terms of the agreement, Nightingale will license its healthcare software applications to the GNWT, through the Department of Health and Social Services, and will provide associated implementation, training and support services. Nightingale's EMR and practice management applications will be deployed at two pilot sites, and following a positive post-implementation review and continued funding approval from the GNWT, will be deployed to healthcare locations throughout the territory over the next several years. Implementation of the pilots is expected to begin in fall 2007. The potential future contract value is $2M.

"By moving towards electronic records, the GNWT is keeping pace with the rest of Canada. Providers will have timely and secure information, ensuring quality care for Northwest Territories residents," said Health and Social Services Assistant Deputy Minister Warren St. Germaine.

"Being selected by the GNWT to provide EMR and practice management solutions to its physicians and community healthcare workers territory-wide is a testament to the robust nature and adaptability of Nightingale's suite of software and services, and is a strong endorsement of our continued leadership position in the Canadian EMR market," said John Bodolai, VP Global Sales of Nightingale. "The GNWT faces unique challenges in delivering patient care, given the territory's size and dispersed demographics. Now, by implementing Nightingale's unique suite of software and services, caregivers will be able to securely access and efficiently share patient information regardless of proximity, enhancing the overall quality of patient care."

Nightingale's products and services offer physicians in United States and Canada leading-edge functionality for clinical documentation, patient scheduling, resource scheduling, billing, transcription, end-to-end coding and claims processing, data management, work flow tools, laboratory interfaces, documentation management and patient portals, along with other real-time services. The Company's proprietary offerings of software include Nightingale On-Demand, RidgeMark, Medical Helper, Therapist Helper, Northern Health Anesthesia, Entity and Physician WorkStation and SecureConnect, providing physicians with fully integrated, simple-to-use systems that automate daily tasks and create a single, accessible source of patient data.
