LIMS with Enterprise-centric Design
The new LIMS offers customers the ability to run N/Aer on a wider variety of platforms including Windows NT, UNIX, and open VMS. In addition, development and internal validation of the new server has been based on Oracle version 8.0.5 to enable the utilization of recent advances in the Oracle database management system. The updated LIMS client will run on Windows 95, 98, NT, and 2000 operating systems.
This LIMS enterprise-centric design also includes a Data Pipe feature that automates the multi-destination transfer of data to other departments and systems. New functionalities also include:
- Sample Plan: a decision tree-based function that defines and controls the sample process workflow
- Lot Management : a review function to search on ‘parent and child' lot information
- Incident Management : for the management of unplanned and unforeseen events
- Statistical Sampling: the automation of statistical calculations for sample sizing
This LIMS is designed to support laboratory operations and integrate those operations into the corporate enterprise. Industries served include manufacturing, chemicals and process, pharmaceutical, food and beverages, water, environmental, and biotechnology. The system has standard integration capabilities to SAP R/3 and AspenTech's InfoPlus.21 process information management system, and can integrate with leading desktop applications.
