Instrumentation Laboratory Achieves Unprecedented Success With GEM Premier 3000 Analyzer
6000th Instrument Placed Worldwide
Lexington, MA - Instrumentation Laboratory (IL) announced that it has installed the 2000th GEM Premier 3000 analyzer in the US and the 6000th worldwide, in less than five years. This unprecedented milestone reflects the tremendous quality of the analyzer and the high level of customer satisfaction it has generated.
2005 was an exceptionally successful year for the product line, in which IL placed a record number of GEM Premier 3000 analyzers around the world -- a 31% increase over 2004. As a result, IL's Critical Care business grew by 14%, nearly three times faster than the overall Critical Care market.
"We are fortunate to have extraordinary, dedicated employees who developed an outstanding product, and who now focus on the continuous improvement of its quality. Our teams are always seeking ways to make the GEM Premier 3000 better, faster, and more cost-effective," said Josep Manent, CEO of IL. "Our customers appreciate this and have rewarded us with their ongoing support and loyalty."
The GEM Premier 3000 is a blood gas, electrolyte, glucose, lactate and hematocrit analyzer. It features Intelligent Quality Management (iQM), a real-time, automated, continuous quality assurance system that helps ensure the quality of every test result and reduce costs and time. iQM, coupled with its cartridge-based technology and ease of use, allows the GEM Premier 3000 to be used throughout the hospital, at the point of care and in the lab. It is the only critical care analyzer that offers "true standardization."
