The new True Surface Thermocouple (TST) contact sensor was developed as a highly accurate, low-cost thermocouple to measure flat surface temperatures in multiple locations. The sensor, which is manufactured in an ISO-9001 facility, is designed to reduce temperature-sensing errors associated with ambient airflow, while packaged in a small profile.
Features of the sensor include:
- Isothermal measuring junction - a large isothermal area for the measuring junction results in one-eighth of the error of a "washer" style thermocouple
- Molded insulator - a movable molded cover insulates the isothermal measuring block from ambient flow.
- Compact, universal package - the contoured sensor measures .44-in. wide by 0.25-in. high and fits easily into tight corners and other tight location. The molded insulator is field removable applications where an even smaller package is needed.
- Temperature rating of 200°C - offers flexibility for applications including semiconductor chambers, platens, packaging, cleaning, and food preparation.
Additionally, the technology offers options that include dual, isolated thermocouples in the same sensor; ungrounded or grounded Type J or K calibrations; and shielded lead wire with drain, either isolated from or connected to the sensor sheath.
