Guava Technologies Introduces The New Guava EasyCyte Mini System

Hayward, CA - Guava Technologies announced the release of the new Guava EasyCyte Mini, the latest addition to Guava's expanding family of accessible, affordable cell analyzers. The Guava EasyCyte Mini provides scientists with an accurate solution to combined multicolor analysis and absolute cell counting. The system was launched at parallel exhibitions at the NIH Research Festival in Washington D.C. and Biotechnica in Hanover, Germany, and will also be highlighted at the International Biotechnology/Lab Automation conference in London, UK in November and the American Society of Cell Biology meeting in San Francisco in early December.

Like other Guava platforms, the Guava EasyCyte Mini system incorporates the enabling microcapillary technology, providing Guava customers with the advantages of small sample volume requirements in a very compact and easy-to-use system. The Mini system takes the Guava concept one step further by providing traditional blue laser analysis, thus expanding the selection of fluorescent dyes available to a Mini user.

"The addition of the EasyCyte Mini is a major step toward attaining the Guava vision of providing accessible, powerful, yet cost-effective cell analysis to the Life Science research community," said Lawrence Bruder, President and COO of Guava Technologies. "The EasyCyte Mini delivers flow cytometric results directly to the scientists' benchtop."

The Guava EasyCyte Mini runs the entire suite of Guava's turnkey assays, enabling easy, fast measurements of GFP expression and viability, cell counting/viability, apoptosis, cell-cycle analysis, antigen detection, and more. When run on Guava platforms, these assays require only micro-volumes of cells and reagents, while generating minimal waste. In addition, like all of the Guava systems, the unique ability to obtain direct absolute cell counts, in addition to population percentages, allows researchers to monitor increases or decreases in overall cell number.
