GERSTEL® ODP 2: Olfactory Detector Port
Source: GERSTEL Inc.
For applications in Fragrances, Flavors, Pharmaceuticals, Packaging, and Cosmetics. Olfactory detection and recording for gas chromatography.
Features:
- For applications in Fragrances, Flavors, Pharmaceuticals, Packaging, and Cosmetics. Olfactory detection and recording for gas chromatography.
- The olfactory detector port allows the sensing of compounds by the human nose as they elute from the column of a gas chromatograph.
- The effluent is split as it leaves the column so that it arrives simultaneously at the nose and a mass spectrometer or another detector.
- The ODP 2 has its own heating and humidification system to provide optimum conditions for detecting and identifying compounds of interest in complex mixtures.
- The ODP 2 can be installed on most gas chromatographs. It consists of a flexible, independently heated, and height adjustable transfer line with nose cone; a pneumatics module that controls make-up gas flow and humidification; and a column flow splitter.
- An optional olfactory intensity device (OID) is available.
- The ODP 2 is easy to operate with convenient access to all controls. The humidification level and the nose cone can all be changed on the fly to optimize sensing during long, complex sample runs
