Fisher-Rosemount To Combine AMS Software With Elcon Instruments' HIS Hardware

Fisher-Rosemount (Austin, TX) has formed a worldwide strategic alliance with Elcon Instruments to combine their Asset Management Solutions (AMS) software with Elcon Instruments' HART Interface Solutions (HIS) hardware. Fisher-Rosemount's AMS, a software application for streamlining maintenance and documentation activities related to instrumentation and valves, provides on-line communication with field devices. Elcon Instruments' HIS is a family of hardware products that provides connectivity between HART field devices and the AMS PC-based software.

Under terms of the agreement, Fisher-Rosemount will make HIS its standard hardware offering for use with AMS software. In addition, Fisher-Rosemount will be the primary sales channel worldwide for HIS to end-users, engineering contractors, and OEMs. Elcon corporate offices will deliver AMS as part of their packaged offering and retain direct sales relationships with selected control systems companies to whom they have been selling HIS and Intrinsic Safety (IS) products.

Elcon is a global supplier of Intrinsic Safety solutions and field instrumentation interface products. Elcon provides products to the process industries—particularly the oil and gas, chemical, petro-chemical, and refining industries.
