Enhanced Copper Heat Exchangers

The 6000 Series Copper Tube-Fin Heat Exchangers are available in eight models of various sizes and have been enhanced with several proprietary manufacturing changes, resulting in performance improvement. According to the manufacturer, the larger heat exchangers saw a 33% increase in performance, while the smaller units saw a 5% increase. Considered well suited for applications that use water, EGW, or other common fluids as the coolant, the exchangers are said to provide efficient heat transfer and maximum reliability in liquid-to-air cooling loops.

The units are fabricated by expanding heavy-walled copper tubing into copper cooling fins for precise metal-to-metal surface contact, silver brazing the liquid circuit and attaching the fan plate. Designed for OEM applications where appearance is important, the units are compact and electro-static dip painted for protection from corrosion. Each unit is 150 psi tested to provide leak-free reliability.

Most of these units are supplied with an aluminum fan plate with pre-assembled fan mounting hardware. The fan plate accommodates common fan sizes and mounting flanges allow for installation into a cabinet or frame. Three inlet/outlet-fitting options are available: straight tube, beaded tube, and 37° flare nut.
