Eichrom's Eclipse™ One Step Test for E. coli O157:H7 detection utilizing ATROSphere™ technology is designed for enhanced specificity for the :H7 species while offering excellent sensitivity. This enhanced specificity reduces the occurrence of false positive test results, offers quick results and is easy to use and read. General applications for this rapid test include: ground water contamination testing, retention pond effluent monitoring, and confirmation of the presence of E. coli O157:H7 when using IDEXX Colilert and IDEXX Colisure for general water safety testing.
The Eclipse E. coli O157:H7 test is able to detect the presence of E. coli O157:H7 in water samples enriched using Colilert and Colisure media from IDEXX. Samples containing E. coli O157:H7 DO NOT fluoresce. If a yellow color is apparent, regardless of the fluorescent reaction, the sample may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7. Consequently, such samples should be tested using Eclipse E. coli O157:H7 test devices to confirm the presence or absence of this organism, which only adds an additional 25 minutes to the overall testing.
