The first of its kind, quantitative immunoassay kits for picomolar detection of human cytokines that are analyzed on a flow cytometer. These kits utilize cytokine-specific, antibody-coated microscopic beads that capture the cytokine present in a biological fluid (for example: serum, plasma, or in vitro culture supernatants). The captured cytokine is then reported with a fluorochrome-labeled, anti-cytokine monoclonal antibody. The concentration of the cytokine in the original sample is directly proportional to the intensity of the fluorescent signal produced by the bead. The cytokine immunoassay kits are currently available in two formats: single analyte ImmunoFlow utilizing the PE (phycoerythrin) emission range for detection, and multiplexed MultiFlow assays which can simultaneously quantitate three cytokines utilizing the Fluorescein, PE, and Cy5PE emission ranges for detection. ImmunoFlow assays for the simultaneous detection of two cytokines are under development. Inquire about availability! These quantitative secretion assays are most useful for analysis of in vitro cell cultures when combined with QuantiCyte intracellular cytokine detection kits and QuantiCyte functional cytokine receptor reagents.

Competitive advantages include:

•Flexible run size: from as few as 1 up to 100 individual analyses per run with no waste of reagents or empty wells.
•90 minute total preparation time for ImmunoFlow vs. 4.5 hours up to overnight for comparable sensitivity (0.5 pg/ml) for ELISA.
•Simultaneous detection of three cytokines (MultiFlow) vs. detection of a single cytokine (ELISA).
•Wider range of analysis: from 5000 pg/ml to 0.5 pg/ml in a single analyte ImmunoFlow assay and 10,000pg/ml to 20pg/ml in a three cytokine MultiFlow assay.
•Powerful software to simplify the development of standard curves and analysis of unknown samples from ImmunoFlow, MultiFlow, as well as other immunoassays and bioassays.
•QuantiCyte kits include all the necessary matched antibody and cell permeabilization reagents for identifying cytokine production in leukocyte subpopulations.
•QuantiCyte cytokine receptor reagents identify only functional cytokine receptors by specific binding of fluorescently-labeled cytokines.

Suggested applications:

These kits have significant applications in the study of immune response, including organ transplantation, tumor immunology, HIV/AIDS, infectious disease, drug development, and inflammation.
