Carl Zeiss Inc. Has New Microscope Division President
Sharp has been with Zeiss for 25 years, most recently serving as senior vice president of the Zeiss worldwide microscopy group (Jena, Germany). In his new position, Sharp will focus on further increasing the market share of the North American sales organization by providing factory-direct products for the specialized needs of customers. The Microscope Division develops equipment for biomedical and materials research, flourescence, confocal, and clinical microscopy.
This is the second big management appointment for Zeiss in recent months. In November, the company announced that James Kelly would become its new president and CEO (see Kelly Appointed President And CEO Of Carl Zeiss Inc.).
