The Saturn 2000 is a benchtop GC/MS equipped with a new software package for maximizing research results. The system switches automatically from EI to CI or MS to MS/MS. According to the manufacturer, the systems offer enhanced sensitivity for high-quality spectra and trace-level analyte searches.
The systems feature ion trap technology with internal ionization to minimize maintenance requirements. Each uses Varian autosamplers, injectors, detectors, and custom solution configurations. Budget-conscious purchasers can obtain most of the features of the Saturn 2000 in a less expensive package with the Saturn 2000R--an entry-level GC/MS configuration.
