PMI's Aquapore offers an alternative to mercury porosimetry for hydrophobic samples

PMI's Aquapore offers an alternative to mercury porosimetry for hydrophobic samples. The Aquapore performs a wide array of tests including bulk density, pore size distribution, mean pore size, and total pore volume. The fully-automated Aquapore allows complete user-control, unlimited data points, and quick and accurate results.

Tests

  • Bulk Density
  • Pore Size Distribution
  • Mean Pore Size
  • Total Pore Volume
  • Porosimetry Surface Area
  • Applications

PMI's Aquapore is ideal for quality control of hydrophobic materials as tests are non-destructive and less than 10 minutes in length. Industries served range from the personal hygiene industry to the automotive industry.

    Principles of Instrument Operation

The Aquapore measures the displacement of a movable piston to determine the fractional volume changes at various pressures.

    Features and Specifications

  • User-determined data point collection based on volume change, pressure change, or combination
  • Compatible with Windows 3.1 or Windows '95
  • Windows-based software handles all control, measurement, data collection, and report generation; manual control also possible
  • Real-time graphical test display depicts testing status and results throughout operation
  • Non-destructive testing
  • Length of test approximately 10 minutes
  • Wide range of acceptable sample geometries -- sample must be hydrophobic
  • Minimal maintenance required
