ALLIEDSIGNAL: AlliedSignal names Linda W. Banton Vice President of Aerospace Government Relations

APR 26, 1999, M2 Communications - WASHINGTON DC -- AlliedSignal Inc. [NYSE: ALD] announced today that Linda W. Banton has been named Vice President of Aerospace Government Relations. She will be based in AlliedSignal's Washington office.

Banton, 51, had been serving as Vice President of Legislative Affairs for Lockheed Martin Corporation in Washington. She was responsible for legislative activities for Lockheed's Information and Services Sector, focusing on space, defense, intelligence and related issues. In 1992 Banton was recruited by GE Aerospace, which was later acquired by Martin Marietta Corporation and then merged with Lockheed Corporation in 1995.

Banton will lead AlliedSignal Aerospace's legislative activities in Congress, as well as oversee strategic government relations initiatives related to the Department of Defense and other key governmental agencies.

Before joining Lockheed Martin, Banton served for six years with Honeywell in McLean, Virginia, and Alliant Techsystems in Arlington, Virginia, where she held government relations and marketing leadership positions. She also held similar positions with Sunohio Company, Canton, Ohio, and Goodyear Aerospace Corporation Defense System Division, Akron, Ohio.

Banton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Akron in Ohio. She is a graduate of the Program for Senior Executives in National and International Security at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. She also is the immediate past chair of the Electronic Industries Alliance Legislative Affairs Council. Banton resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
