ABB To Focus Corporate R&D Efforts At Houston Lab
ABB employs some 1,000 people in its U.S. research and development efforts at more than a dozen sites around the country. Their R&D focuses on such areas as catalysis for the petrochemical industry, software development, energy management systems, process automation, instrumentation, factory automation, electronics, advanced materials, and oil and gas production equipment and systems.
ABB, with U.S. headquarters in Norwalk, CT, serves customers in power transmission and distribution; automation; oil, gas, and petrochemicals; industrial products and contracting; and financial services.
ABB Vetco Gray is a supplier of systems, products, and services for oil and gas drilling and production, onshore and offshore. The ABB Vetco Gray Laboratory in Houston employs 33 people, including 18 graduate engineers. The laboratory focuses on high-pressure containment equipment and on processes used in oil and gas exploration and production.
