PITTCON 2001: JFC-300 Cryogenic Sample Crusher

Source: DyChrom
JFC-300 is used to crush and pulverize after cooling with liquid nitrogen all kinds of polymer.
DyChrom will be exhibiting at Pittcon 2001 the Model JFC-300 cryogenic sample crusher. JFC-300 is used to crush and pulverize after cooling with liquid nitrogen all kinds of polymer. This results in uniform and reproducible sampling for all types of analysis. Uniform KBr disk sample can be obtained for IR analysis, if the sample with KBr is crushed by JFC-300. Accuracy and sensitivity for outgas analysis from polymer is enhanced with the crusher since it results in increased surface area. After pulverizing the sample, NMR spectrum can be obtained on the solid. Up to 3 g of polymer such as LDPE, Nylon, PTFE, PVC, rubber etc. can be crushed at one time. In the case of PC and HDPE, the maximum sample is 1.5g.
