The heating blocks use the same vial for digestion, storage, and analysis and offer uniform heating, which allows unattended operation and accurate temperature control. The blocks utilize inexpensive polypropylene vials, which eliminate the need for washing. The vials are also essentially metal-free, which does away with the need for acid baths. All blocks are custom-drilled with graphite heating block and Kydex exterior and included sample racks allow off-line prep of samples. The only metallic components are control and heating elements, and the blocks feature no more hotplate corrosion and sample contamination.
