Hand-Held Luminometer

The Mini-Lum single tube luminometer is a hand-held instrument with integrated injector for use with both flash and glow reagents. It is user programmable to accommodate a wide variety of chemistry applications including ATP measurements, gene insertion assays, and cell growth quantitation.

The product's injector is built-in, dispensing 100 uL of reagent and starting the measurement cycle when it is pressed. Data can be stored internally and output on-line or downloaded later to a printer or a computer via an RS-232C port. The unit is microprocessor controlled with simple user programming access through the keypad and LCD display. System options include miniature thermal printer, digital pipettor, battery power pack, and carrying case.

The device meets the requirements for implementing and maintaining HACCP programs. Developed based on extensive field investigation involving both industry as well as inspection agencies, the luminometer makes it possible to utilize rapid microbiological testing procedures for monitoring critical control points that are compatible with standard methods and which also provide data recording and transfer capability. Kits are available for these applications. For molecular biology applications, the product can be used for Luciferase Reporter gene assays and Dual Luciferase detection assays.
