Covidien's Mallinckrodt Baker Adds 2.5-Liter High-Density Polyethylene Packaging For Reagent Acids

Phillipsburg, NJ - Covidien , a leading global provider of healthcare products, recently announced that its Mallinckrodt Baker business has added a new 2.5-liter high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottle as a packaging option for its J.T.Baker chemicals and Mallinckrodt chemicals brand reagent acids. The new bottle offers laboratory technicians a durable packaging alternative that enhances laboratory safety and reduces costs, while meeting industry standard size requirements.

Complementing Mallinckrodt Baker's current product portfolio, the new 2.5-liter bottle maintains product purity and is easy to handle in a laboratory setting. Available to customers at a lower cost than its standard glass counterpart, the new HDPE bottle also provides a cost-effective answer to rising expenses in the analytical lab market. Additionally, its lighter weight reduces shipping costs, which allows savings to be passed on to the customer.

"As one of only a few companies to offer this packaging configuration, Mallinckrodt Baker has again taken a leadership role in the laboratory industry by providing a 2.5-liter HDPE container option for our customers," said Russell Thorpe, global marketing director, laboratory products, Mallinckrodt Baker. "The company is committed to providing products that help our customers promote safe laboratory practices and improve cost-efficiency."
