The TopCount NXT microplate scintillation and luminescence counter positions microplates above the instrument and ensures complete access to the microplate by the robotic gripper. The device enables robotic loading and unloading of plates from either the front (portrait) or the side (landscape) of the device, without requiring mechanical modification to the instrument.
Additionally, the counter has a mechanism that can be removed to allow the conversion of the instrument to stand-alone, multi-plate stacker, or manual operation. This versatility makes the device suitable for laboratory situations in which changes in projects or type of analysis necessitates removing the product from the robotic system, or in cases when microplates from non-robotic sources may also be counted while the device is still connected to the robot.
