Japanese Agency Seeks Tunneling Spectroscopy System

The Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (Riken; Saitama, Japan) is seeking an ultra-low temperature scanning tunneling spectroscopy system combined with a simultaneous optical spectroscopy measurement system.

Bids must be received by July 8, 1999. To qualify to bid, suppliers must not come under either Article 70 or 71 of the Japanese cabinet order concerning budget, auditing, and accounting. Bidders must also have grade A or B qualifications for participating in tenders by Riken in FY1999 or FY2000. Bidders must provide rapid after-sale service and maintenance for the system.

Takaaki Hattori, director of the contract management division at Riken, is in charge of purchasing the system. Delivery must occur by Sept. 30, 1999, to the Institute of Physical and Chemical Research (Riken), 2-1, Hirosawa, Wako-shi, Saitama, 351-0198, Japan.
