GERSTEL ThermoDesorptionSystem

Source: GERSTEL Inc.
Features of our ThermoDesorptionSystem
Features:
  • FOR: Trapping volatile and semi-volatile substances on an adsorbent; Direct thermal extraction of volatile substances from solids without sample preparation
  • The adsorbent or solid sample is placed in a thermal desorption tube which is then heated to transfer the compounds to be determined into the CIS.
  • The CIS functions as a cryotrap, focusing and concentrating the components to be determined, and then transferring them to the capillary column.
  • The combination of the TDS 2 with the CIS permits a high desorption flow since the CIS focuses the analytes in the glass inlet liner while the excess gas passes through the split vent.
  • The system's flexibility allows desorption to occur with or without splitting, followed by sample transfer by the CIS (also with or without splitting).
  • Horizontal design allows samples of any physical state to be analyzed; Applicable to a wide boiling point range of compounds (e.g. vinyl chloride to PCBs)
  • Large sample concentration ranges can be accomodated because of split or splitless desorption and sample transfer modes; Fast analysis time due to sample transfer through short path interface and at high desorption flow rates
Low temperature purge allows oxygen or other reactive gases to be removed before desorption step; LN2 cooling provides an initial starting temperature as low as -50 oC; Two temperature ramps for the thermal selection of compounds within a single analysis are available; GERSTEL-MASter-Software provides programming of methods and sequences.
