TitanCL™ Ceramic Valves
IDEX Health & ScienceDatasheet: TitanCL™ Ceramic Valves
The TitanCL family of long-life ceramic motorized valves offers a low-maintenance solution for clinical and biotechnology applications. Liquid-end options:
- 3-position 3-port
- 2-position 4-port
- 3-position 4-port
- 4-position 3-port
- 6-position 7-port
- 4-position 4-port
- 4-position 5-port
TitanCL ceramic valves are designed for use in low-pressure applications that demand long lifetimes and compatibility with ¼-28 fittings. The valve can operate at pressures up to 102 psi (7 bar), and the actuator is manufactured using highly inert and wear-resistant and advanced composite polymers. Less wear on wetted surfaces yields lifetimes of more than 3 million cycles and a reduced cost of ownership.
Applications
Typical applications include:
- Clinical Diagnostics: Sample preparation, sample handling, flow cytometry
- Biotechnology: Fermentor sampling, reagent addition, automated chemical dispensing
- Scientific Instrumentation: Ultra-high purity water sampling, reagent selection, precision dispensing applications
Unique Ceramic-on-Ceramic Technology: The demand of in-vitro diagnostic and biotechnology applications require long-life and reliability. Rheodyne's unique ceramic coating technology introduces a highly durable liquid end capable of millions of actuations*. Coupled with the proven long life and reliability of the Titan series actuator, The TitanCL offers unparalleled lifetime and performance.
Reduced Cost of Ownership: With low maintenance, reliability, and long life, TitanCL offers low cost of ownership.
Universal Encoders and Multiposition Capabilities: TitanCL incorporates universal multiposition encoder wheels. The encoders provide multiposition capabilities and thus do not limit fluidic solutions to two positions, but accommodate multiposition applications using the same platform.
Available with integrated driver board: The optional driver board integrates with the TitanCL platform to provide the added functionality of motor drive and valve control without significantly affecting the small footprint of this multiposition valve. Customers need to provide only 24" VDC power and 4-line BCD signals for random access actuation with position feedback. The benefit is clear — elimination of internal board and firmware development means shorter product development cycles and reduced time-to-market.
