GenSys Earns ‘Top Data Management Product' Award For Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) Enterprise Solution

GenSys Software, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise software solutions for the life sciences and R&D-based industries, announced today that its GenSys/ELN™ electronic laboratory notebook enterprise solution was named the Top Data Management Product in 2004 by Scientific Computing & Instrumentation Magazine. The GenSys/ELN™, developed as an alternative to traditional paper laboratory notebooks, supports increased research productivity, enhanced collaboration through the creation of secure enterprise-wide knowledge repositories, and scalability through an open technology architecture that enables integration with third-party desktop tools and back-end enterprise applications from providers such as Oracle, Sun Microsystems, BEA Systems, CambridgeSoft, and MDL.

"Scientific Computing's Top Product Awards honor those products that received the highest response from our readers during the past year," said Jennifer Miller, Managing Editor of Scientific Computing & Instrumentation Magazine.

The GenSys/ELN™ was the first enterprise solution to receive the full endorsement of the Collaborative Notebook Systems Association (CENSA). Notable features include a test-refined user interface, a drag-and-drop notebook entry editor tool and stored stoichiometry formulas with relational updating capabilities. In addition, the GenSys/ELN™ provides enterprise-wide search capabilities, a discipline-neutral platform for laboratory data, compliance with the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 21 Part 11 regarding electronic records and electronic signatures, electronic entry audit trails, advanced levels of security and encryption, and an access control list (ACL) scheme for administrative control over user permissions.

"We are pleased that the GenSys/ELN™ solution has been recognized as the leading data management product by such a trusted industry authority for the second consecutive year," said GenSys Chief Executive Officer, Tom Williams. "The GenSys/ELN™ earned this accolade because of demonstrated superiority in usability, scalability, and also for its compatibility with different enterprise applications, informatics research tools, and data types."
