MET Labs Supports WiGig Alliance In Ground-Breaking Technology Plugfest

Leading Testing and Certification Laboratory Supports the WiGig Alliance as It Moves Closer to Commercialization

Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB)

MET Laboratories, a world leader in independent compliance, testing and certification, has had its second successful occasion co-hosting the Wireless Gigabit Alliance (WiGig) Plugfest last week.

The exciting four day event tested the multi-gigabit wireless WiGig technology in real world conditions, taking the technology ever closer to commercialization.

MET Labs has been labelling products for safety for over 40 years and can certify to over 200 standards for the U.S. market. Its wireless testing customers have included some big names in the industry including Motorola, Ericsson, Huawei and Broadcom.

“We are pleased to be involved yet again and be a part of the growing use of the WiGig technology,” said Ted Osinski, MET Labs Director of Emerging Technologies. “We understand the increasing consumer demand for high-speed wireless communications and are excited to be working together with the WiGig members to bring this technology to all markets.”

MET Labs has worked with the WiGig Alliance since the organization began in 2009. Key test instrumentation for the Plugfest was once again provided by Agilent Technologies and Rohde and Schwarz.

“With this being the second organized Plugfest, we will continue to commit to the WiGig Alliance members and their customers to building an ecosystem of interoperable WiGig-enabled products,” said Dr. Ali Sadri, WiGig Alliance President and Chairman.

“Our vision has always been to introduce a technology capable of enabling new applications and an unprecedented user experience for developers and customers. With this Plugfest, a technology that appeared imaginative just a few years ago is now steps away from mass commercialization.”
